Started with the City of College Station, Parks and Recreation Department as the Forestry Division Superintendent in May 1990. The Forestry Division contains 14.5 employees, and has an annual budget in excess of one million dollars. Responsibilities include the management and care for all public trees as well as landscape and irrigation maintenance for municipal facilities and throughout the park system, and operation of the municipal cemeteries. Maintenance of the landscaping and irrigation responsibilities is a mix of internal crews and contracts with outside vendors. All tree-related issues are completed with internal crews.

Recently completed the development of an Urban Forest Management Plan for the City of College Station with the help of a matching grant from the Texas Forest Service.

Short to medium range goals for the Division: Keep the implementation of the College Station Urban Forest Management Plan on the table and moving forward.
